Dinner Table Syndrome - Experiential Art

This project is an experiential art piece that simulates what it is like to experience Dinner Table Syndrome: an experience that deaf and hard of hearing people face when they are excluded from communication in social settings. Visitors enter a room with distorted audio that is designed to mimic what hearing loss can sound like. Visitors are encouraged to sit at the table and confront their own shadow as they are unable to understand the dinner table conversation.
